A long-time resident of Santa Cruz, Elise Lovejoy is certified in Plant-based Nutrition by the Center for Nutrition Studies at eCornell and has a Master’s degree in Education from Stanford. After a close family member was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer, she studied in depth the research of Doctors T. Colin Campbell, Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr., Joel Furhman, Michael Greger, John McDougall, and Dean Ornish on the health benefits of a whole food, plant based diet. Having been on a whole food, plant based food plan for years, now, Elise is familiar with the challenges people face in making this diet and lifestyle change, and she is passionate about helping people successfully transition to WFPB eating and reap its benefits. Her goal with this book is to provide recipes that integrate the various perspectives of the doctors whose research she studied while offering a variety of comfort foods that will help the transition happen more naturally.
